Try as many exercises as you can, either in your home or outside, to
stay physically and mentally healthy!  Keep it up after the event too!

The top three students and classes with the most exercise time
logged will win prizes!

Though our focus is on keeping you healthy, we want to try to raise money for school improvements necessary for a return to campus, as well as headphones to use during distance learning. Ask your family, friends, neighbors, your parent’s co-workers and
others to donate to help enrich your education.

       1. Go to https://app.99pledges.com/fund/tahoemoveathon2020

      2. You’ll find an overview of the event, including what we plan to help fun with the money we raise, plus the option to Search for Participant. 

      3. You’ll select the student you are donating to (their teacher’s name is listed as well). We have teams/groups assigned for this as well sorted by class.

      4. Next is a large blue Donate button which will take you to a page to either give a Flat Donation or Donate per Minute. 

To Donate per Minute: Each student is currently estimated to complete at least 10 minutes, but their total times will be entered once the event is complete. So if you enter $1 per minute and at the end of the Move-a-Thon, they complete 60 minutes, you will be donating $60. You will of course be asked before running your credit card, at which point you can change the amount you would like to donate. The Donate per Minute selection is best for students who need a little more encouragement to participate, or who might complete a smaller number of minutes of activities. 

To make a Flat Donation: enter the total dollar amount you’d like to donate. This option is best for most donations, and for students who are expected to complete a larger number of minutes of activities.

       5. In the grey box below, 99pledges asks for a tip to help run their website, which is free for us to use. You can either give a tip or select Other and change the amount to $0. 

       6. Enter your email and select Next. On the following page you will enter your credit card information and any message you would like to share with the student to whom you are donating OR select to Make My Donation Anonymous. 

       7. Finally, select Send Donation and you are done! Thank you for your generous support of Tahoe Elementary and its students!

 

Not sure how to sign up on runsignup to participate and log your exercise?  Follow these steps:

So parents/guardians will 

Go to https://runsignup.com/Race/CA/Sacramento/TahoeMoveaThon2020 to register their student(s) to log activities and earn virtual badges. 

At the top right in the yellow box select Sign Up. Register your Student.

Select Minor, under 18, and fill in the Basic Info.

Below that, select all of the events your child(ren) want to do during the two week period. The more the better! You can always add more later on too.

You can then register your other child(ren) if need be.

There is a short waiver to look over and agree to, confirming your student(s) will try to prevent injury to themselves and others, and to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocol.

Then select their Team by choosing their teacher’s name.

On the next page make sure to select Confirm Registration at the bottom.

You will receive an email of confirmation. Please ignore the instruction to ‘Print this email for packet pickup” as there will be none. 

After the event begins, you can log your student(s) activities under RESULTS at the top of the home page. Then select the yellow box on the top right Submit Virtual Results. Students will earn virtual badges for the time they spend exercising!
